STATUE OF ZEUS

The statue of Zeus on Olympus is a work of ancient sculpture, one of the seven wonders of the world. The statue, erected in honor of Zeus, the main deity invented by the Greeks, was carved and made by the ingenious Greek sculptor Phidias in the ancient Greek city of Olympia. The statue, which arouses great interest of people with its splendor and wonder, is exposed to external influences over time. Due to the influence of earthquakes and floods, the statue is in poor condition. The statue, brought to Istanbul by a wealthy Greek, completely disappeared in a great fire in 462.
