HANGING GARDENS OF SEMIRAMIS

BABYLON.

According to legend, these gardens were created by order of the Assyrian princess Semiramis. However, it is also said that the gardens were created by order of King Nebuchadnezzar in the 7th century BC. Sources show that this ruler married Semiramis, the daughter of the Median king, and brought her to Babylon. Semiramis longs for the fresh air and the rustle of leaves in dusty Babylon. The ruler also feels this and brings the beauty of Media to the center of the ancient valley for the woman he loves.

All the forces of the kingdom are mobilized for these gardens, built in honor of Semiramis. Experienced architects and engineers of that time were involved in this work. The ruler is building a magnificent monument of love for the first time in the world. The swinging gardens are known as the "Gardens of Babylon".
